The Whole Child Learning Company was originally known as Gigglebytes, and was started by Matt and Lindsay Barron of Marcos, Texas, in 1996 to offer computer education to children in pre-schools, day care centers, after school programs, and the like. In 1997 the company change it's name to The Whole Child Learning Company and began offering an expanded line of educational programs. The company began offering its business concept as a franchise opportunity in 1999. Franchisees of The Whole Child Learning Company are provided with three days of training at company headquarters and up to five days of training at the franchisees own location. Continuing support is available to franchise owners in the form of meetings, newsletters, internet resources, a toll free support line, a grand opening, and field evaluations. Marketing support is provided through regional advertising and a co-op ad program.
